Truenorth’s Director, Rachel Skeoch, has been accepted into the Women's Engineering Society as an Associate Member.
The Women's Engineering Society (WES) has been at the forefront of empowering women in engineering for over a century. Founded in 1919 by Rachel Parsons of Newcastle, it’s their mission is to support women in engineering to fulfil their potential, and support the engineering industry to be inclusive, which as an organisation.
Rachel’s acceptance into WES is a reflection of our dedication to not only understand the unique challenges that women face in the engineering and manufacturing sectors but also actively working towards a more inclusive future. The North East has long been a hub for engineering and manufacturing, and yet the representation of women in these fields has often been lacking. Truenorth's association with WES demonstrates a commitment to changing this narrative and creating a more balanced landscape for our industry.
Rachel will actively engage with WES and its programmes, participating in events and knowledge-sharing opportunities that the society provides. By collaborating with like-minded organisations and individuals, we aim to foster a community where women are encouraged and supported in their engineering careers.
